Chelone lyonii ‘Tiny Tortuga ‘ – Dwarf Pink Turtlehead

A compact form of turtlehead that is easier to incorporate in perennial beds around the house or even in a container for late summer color. The flowers are slightly smaller as well but still large enough to entice a worker bumblebee to squeeze in for some nectar and pollen. Provide a little afternoon shade or moist soil and ‘Tiny Tortuga’ will reward you with a fairly lengthy bloom season. Tortuga is the Spanish word for turtle so the cultivar name reflects the species common name.
