Cornus sericea ‘Kelseyi’ – Dwarf Red-osier Dogwood

$39.00$59.00

A low-growing, rounded form, much smaller and compact than the straight species – fantastic as tall woody ground cover, though it does need some pruning now and then. Stems are showy with a mixture of red to yellow throughout the winter (though typically not as showy as the straight species or full-size varieties) turning to green when the leaves emerge. Leaves are rounded to oval with deeply indented veination and turn purplish-red in the fall.  Flowers appear in early summer in flat showy clusters with individual flowers creamy white and tiny. Berry-like fruit turn white when ripe and are popular with birds.
