Liatris aspera – Rough Blazing Star – 1.25-Quart

$6.00

The most showy Blazing Star for drier conditions. The button-type flower heads are spaced out along the stems and are short-stalked or stalkless. Many butterflies find the flowers irresistible – you’ll be sure to attract them to your garden if you plant this species. For best results grow in full sun and well-drained soil – the plant will become floppy if grown in too rich of a soil or in too much shade. Found mostly from Michigan to North Dakota south to Texas and South Carolina – occurrences in New York near Lake Ontario and the Bronx appear to be introductions.
