A favorite nectar plant of the Monarch butterfly and a beautiful ornamental as well, this plant should be a staple in everyone’s wildflower or butterfly garden. Mostly found in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio; there is one record in New York State from Chemung County. Combine with Mountain Mints, Purple Coneflowers, Wild Bergamot, Goldenrods, Rosinweed and Prairie Coneflower – don’t forget some prairie grasses like Big Bluestem, Switchgrass and Indian Grass.
