Nymphaea ‘Purple Lucent’ – Medium ISG Water Lily

Now that the holy grail of a purple hardy water lily has been achieved, we’re starting to see an explosion of varieties, many of which quite frankly, are pretty similar looking. We’ve been trying to select the most distinctive and best performing of the myriad new varieties. ‘Purple Lucent’ from Mike Giles is one such variety, a real show stopper. The color is a glowing purple and the large flowers stand high above the water surface, demanding “Look at me”. It also has a compact rhizome and adapts to even tub culture while blooming prolifically.
