Pinus rigida – Pitch Pine – 2-Gallon

Sam’s Point Preserve at Cragsmoor is the location for a rare ecosystem, a ridgetop pine barrens where pitch pines grow into bonsai-like specimens due to shallow soils, limited rainfall and fire – they are not genetically dwarf. Our trees will become full-size under most conditions – you’ll have to prune them to get them to look like the pines at Sam’s Point. Pitch pine can also be found growing in swampy lowlands – it’s a tough tree that shrugs off the worst conditions mother nature has to offer!
