Prunus avium BlackPearl® – Sweet Cherry

An early cherry with exceptional firmness and storability. This large cherry is firm and crunchy with excellent flavor, 20% sugar and a low incidence of cracking. The vigorous, upright tree produces well. It’s another introduction from the Cornell University breeding program for cherries that are better adapted to the Northeast than common store varieties from the Pacific Northwest like ‘Rainier’ and ‘Bing’. Requires a different variety for pollenization.
