Prunus salicina ‘Satsuma’ – Japanese Plum – 7-Gallon

$79.00

Brought from Japan to California by Luther Burbank, this large plum with dark, solid red skin and flesh also does well on the East Coast. Often called blood plum. Not to be confused with the mandarin orange of the same name, the firm, juicy fruit has an excellent sweet flavor, great for fresh eating, cooking, canning, or preserves. Ripens mid-season, usually in late July into August. Partially self-fruitful – pollinate for heavy crops with another Japanese plum like ‘Shiro’, ‘Santa Rosa’ or ‘Methley’.
