Pycnanthemum torreyi – Torrey’s Mountain Mint – 1-Quart

An endangered species in New York, with only 3 extant populations. While it is also found in other states, it’s uncommon in most and is considered globally imperiled as well – at high risk of extinction. Torrey’s Mountain Mint is quite similar to two other species of Mountain Mint – Virginia Mountain Mint (P. virginianum), a fairly common old field species; and Whorled Mountain Mint (P. verticillatum) also endangered in New York, but more secure globally. Torrey’s Mountain Mint is found in dry, open habitats, including red cedar barrens, rocky summits, trails, and roadsides.
