Quercus rubra – Red Oak

$59.00$315.00

The King of the Oaks. This fast-growing, long-lived species develops a strong, columnar trunk with long, smooth plates of dark bark separated by deep furrows of reddish under-bark. The broad leaves have shallow sinuses and develop good fall color ranging from crimson to golden orange to russet. Avoid planting in a hot, dry location or the tree will languish. Provide a deep moist soil and Red Oak will become one of the tallest and most stately trees in your landscape. Red oak acorns are a source of food for squirrels, jays, bears, and white-tailed deer.
