Quercus x warei Regal Prince® – Hybrid Columnar Oak

A hybrid between a columnar form of English Oak (Q. robur ‘Fastigiata’) and our native Swamp White Oak (Q. bicolor). Like its English parent it grows in a very upright form and matures to a slender oval. It has handsomely rugged bark and foliage that is dark green above with a silvery underside – showy when a little breeze catches the leaves and sends them waving back and forth, pale silver to dark green. Like its American parent, this tree is adaptable to most soils, dry or wet, acidic or alkaline, and is highly pest and disease resistant.
