Rhus copallinum – Flameleaf Sumac – 3-Gallon

$39.00

A small tree or large shrub that spreads by underground runners to form a thicket. Like all sumacs, the foliage in fall turns spectacular colors ranging from crimson to maroon. Greenish-yellow flowers on 4-8“ feathery panicles are nectar-rich and valued by many insects. They are followed by crimson fruit in the fall that hang on into winter when they become an important food for overwintering birds. Will grow anywhere except a poorly drained, quite wet site. Great for a natural screen or wildlife hedgerow.
