Vaccinium x ‘Polaris’ – Halfhigh Blueberry

A cold-hardy (zone 3b) hybrid of highbush and lowbush blueberries from the University of Minnesota with an upright growth habit to 30-40”. The medium-sized berries ripen early and have a sweet flavor. Yields are 3-7 pounds per plant. Not at all self-fruitful – must be planted with another variety – the 3/4-high varieties ‘Chippewa’ and ‘Patriot’ are similar in growth habit but any other variety can serve as a pollenizer.
