Blephilia hirsuta – Hairy Woodmint – 1.25-Quart

$6.00

As you can surmise from the name, this is a mint for the woodland garden, although it will flower more profusely if provided with some sun – think woodland edge. It’s a bit taller and lankier than its congener, Downy Woodmint (B. ciliata) and a little less showy in flower. Even so the tight whorls of small flowers can provide much needed color in the woodland garden in summer after the spring flush of most woodlanders has subsided. Like most mints the flowers provide nectar to a variety of bees and butterflies.
