Nyssa sylvatica ‘Tupelo Tower’ – Black Gum or Tupelo – 7-Gallon

$145.00$175.00

This selection by Klyn Nursery of Ohio has a very tight, upright habit unlike most Tupelos. The lustrous dark green summer foliage turns gorgeous shades of yellow and orange in early fall. The upright, narrow habit makes ‘Tupelo Tower’ an excellent choice for smaller spaces and urban settings. We’ve seen fruits on our trees so we think this is a female cultivar. However, tupelos occasionally produce perfect flowers so it’s possible to see a few fruits on what are predominantly male trees. Cold hardy to zone 4, so, along with ‘Northern Splendor’ a good choice for higher elevations of the Catskills.
