Prunus avium ‘Rynbrandt’ – Sweet Cherry – 7-Gallon

$79.00

Introduced by Cornell University, this variety also goes by the trademarked name Cavalier™. It’s valued mostly for being the earliest ripening cherry that is well-adapted to Eastern growing conditions. Fruit is of high quality, with rich color, a shiny finish, and medium to large size. Bacterial canker tolerance and winter hardiness are both good, as is resistance to cracking. Self-infertile, in Pollen Group IV (S2S3). Needs a variety from a different group for pollenization. It’s not the most productive variety, but its early ripening is considered to be worth the tradeoff.
