Rhododendron ‘Rosy Lights’ – Deciduous Azalea

A University of Minnesota production – another in their ‘Northern Lights’ series of floriferous and bone-chillingly cold-hardy azaleas all of which have at least one native species of azalea in their parentage. ‘Rosy Lights’ is a hybrid between our native Roseshell Azalea (Rhododendron prinophyllum) and a Mollis Hybrid Azalea (R. ×kosterianum) of Asian origin. Fragrant dark pink flowers with rose-red shadings cover a large, bushy shrub. Cold hardy to zone 4, perhaps even a little colder.
