Rubus ‘Caroline’ – Red Fall Raspberry

Higher in vitamins and antioxidants than other varieties! Researchers at Ohio State University compared several varieties of raspberries and found that ‘Caroline’ is higher in cancer-fighting antioxidants, beta carotene, and vitamins A, E, and C than any other raspberry tested. The fruits are very large, firm and cohesive with an exquisite flavor that is just the right balance between sweet and tangy. Indeed ‘Caroline’ consistently is rated the best-tasting fall-bearing red raspberry. It begins ripening in early September in our area. While all raspberries like a deep, moist soil, ’Caroline’ in particular benefits from supplemental irrigation through any summer dry spells.
