Rubus ‘Jaclyn’ – Red Fall Raspberry

An introduction from the University of Maryland, using the well-known ‘Caroline’ as one of the parents. ‘Jaclyn’ ripens its primocane (Fall) crop before ‘Caroline’ and, indeed, is one of the earliest ripening Fall Raspberries – along with ‘Polana’ as early as late Summer (September) in our area. Quite large, deep red fruits have excellent firmness and are conical in shape with sweet flavors. Plants are highly resistant to common insect and fungal diseases. Finally, ‘Jaclyn’ is a vigorous plant, producing more root and crown suckers than most other varieties – more canes = more berries!
