Vaccinium x ‘Northcountry’ – Halfhigh Blueberry

A hybrid of highbush and lowbush blueberries from Minnesota that is cold-hardy to zone 3. Fruit is medium-sized with an appealing, sweet, wild lowbush blueberry flavor. Grows slightly larger than ‘Northsky,’ reaching 18-24” tall and 30-40” wide. A vigorous grower with dark green foliage that turns scarlet red in fall. Just like ‘Northsky,’ ‘Northcountry’s compact form makes it a great choice for growing in containers on a patio or toward the foreground of an edible landscape. Self-fertile, but yields improve when planted with ‘Northsky’ or any other blueberry variety.
