Coreopsis ‘Gilded Lace’ – Tall Tickseed – 5-Pint

$6.00$12.00

A chance seedling from the garden of Peter Heus of Enchanter’s Garden in West Virginia. The lacey foliage reminds one of Threadleaf Coreopsis (C. verticillata) but the considerable height suggests hybridization with Tall Coreopsis (C. tripteris). ‘Gilded Lace’ was one of the most highly rated plants in the Mt. Cuba Center Coreopsis trials in Delaware. This was particularly due to its extended bloom season from July through October. It will run quite a bit, forming a colony of plants and putting on an amazing flowering display. Despite being a hybrid, ‘Gilded Lace’ is very attractive to native pollinators. It’s also reliably hardy and disease resistant. The only minor complaint about ‘Gilded Lace’ is a tendency for its stems to lean a little.
