Ilex verticillata Berry Heavy Gold® – Early Female Winterberry

Berry Heavy® Gold has the biggest, brightest gold fruit yet. Selected by the late, great plantsman and conservationist Fred Case of Saginaw, Michigan. This is a northern, early-flowering female variety which needs the male cultivar ‘Jim Dandy’ for pollination and berry production, or perhaps you can rely on wild males if they grow within about 50 feet or so, some claim even 200 feet.
