Rubus ‘Glencoe’ – Purple Summer Raspberry – 1.25-Quart

This cross of European black raspberry and red raspberry was developed at the Scottish Crop Research Institute. ‘Glencoe’ is remarkable for the intense color of its fruits, and even more so for the superb flavor. The spine free canes are easy to manage – growth is similar to a Raspberry but a little more bushy and vigorous – space plants 2-3’ apart. Tip prune in summer at 30 inches to keep compact and increase yields when fruiting occurs the following year. Remove old canes after they’ve fruited. Resistant to Verticillium Wilt. Cold hardy through most of our area.
